Ngroups.NET opened its doors on November 1, 2003. Our reliability, fast support, affordability, and dedication to quality has since then earned us a leading position among the non-independent Usenet Newsgroup service providers. In those days when we started, not much over 5 years ago, 10 days of binary newsgroup retention was considered long. Two whole weeks was an eternity.

At the time we announce this, our current Binary Newsgroup retention is at approximately 200 days. All storage hardware is in place, and the Binary Retention is growing daily, to eventually reach twice as long time as todays, already long, retention. In fact, the storage in place today is enough to go far beyond 400 days retention counted in the current daily traffic volume, but the daily traffic is continually increasing, so we are counting on a much higher future daily traffic volume when committing to the 400+ days.

Since the retention today, March 23, 2009, is approximately 200 days, it will need another approximate 200 days to reach the 400 day level, but Ngroups.NET has with this 400+ day announcement committed ourselves to the longest Binary Retention provided by any Usenet Newsgroups provider.
